Miko aka (Miko Jackweenie)

  • male : looks to be jack russel and dachshund mix
  • 10lbs long and short.
  • Age around 7 years old.
  • Intake: Dec 8 th, 2016 from Caddo Parish Animal Services
  • potty trained
  • dog, cat, child friendly (Children LOVE Miko)
  • not kenneled when leaving the home, he is allowed to free roam as he is a good boy.
  • loves toys
  • Drinking water has to be off of the ground (raised) We will explain to inquiring families.

X-rays discovered he has an old injury...femur out of place and some healed over broken ribs! It shows him no pain so it is better to leave than attempt removing the femur head and putting back in place. Multiple vets agree to leave as is since it causes him no pain. )

Vetting: We had Miko neutered. Got up to date on shots. Treated for kennel cough.. Heartworm test which was negative. Put on proheart for heartworm prevention (shot that lasts 6 months). Put on bravecto for flea/tick prevention (pill lasts 3 months). Microchipped under the rescue.  Treated for tapeworms and also had regular dewormer. Xrays - antibiotics  Miko had a LOT more done and all looked good.

History: One of our fosters grandaughters found Miko running in a busy street with traffic all around.  She took the risk and went out in the road to get him. Little boy was very skinny and filled with tapeworms. We cannot help animals without them legally going through stray hold so Miko had to go to the shelter to do his stray hold. It was so hard for us to bring him in but we did and he did his stray hold and is now a Rockers baby. We were all so happy the day we got to get him back from the shelter. He was ecstatic!

Personality: Toy?! Toy?! Miko LOVES his toys! He literally takes one to bed with him to sleep by it every night! Isn't that just the sweetest? Miko would like a home where he can continue sleeping in the bed. He likes to follow you around the home. Sit on your lap.  Enjoys running around outside with his friends then coming back inside to attack a toy and cuddle! haha. He will even bring a toy outside with him then bring it back in. Miko does not have to be kenneled when nobody is home. He is a good boy when left in the home alone.

Miko is definitely dog friendly. He does okay with cats too. Great with kids...he was just a kissing my 4 year old the day we got him from the shelter. Children at events LOVE playing ball with him. Potty trained.. we prefer homes with a fenced yard. This is a very loving and playful little boy... he would like a family that can give him lots of spoiling and attention as he just loves his people.

About Microchip: Our animals are microchipped under the rescue. By having the animals microchipped under us it provides us with a definite option of the animal being safe if found. If the pet ever goes missing you can let us know as well so we may help find them. If we ever are called on the animal being found we will try our best for 2 weeks to get in contact with the owners (as you should also be trying to get in contact with us) and if the owner is not found after 2 weeks the animal is legally ours again via our contract. This is a GREAT safety precaution for loving families. It means you will have an awesome caring team devoted to reuniting you with your baby. We ourselves have found microchipped dogs that have been rehomed and ended up in shelters on a euthanasia list. We take this very seriously as we never want that to happen to any of our animals. We also require first option of taking an animal back if the home does not work out. You can consider us a forever family for the pets adopted from us.

Adoption:  Must have a vet reference when filling out one of our applications. Monthly h eartworm prevention is very important to us and your pet so adopters need to be financially prepared to cover that  expense. If you do not know about heartworms we would love to tell you about them. We all have to learn!    Any inquiries on adoption please feel free to message us. All information stated above is the the best of our knowledge for for as long as we have known this pet.

Adoption fee of $100. (this includes microchipping expense)

First email us to let us know you are filling out an application as sometimes the site glitches and it will not send, rockersrescue@gmail.com  then go to the following site to fill out the application. Include as much information as you can...we like to get to know our possible adopters!  www.adoptapet.com/ rockersrescue/adoptionapp/.
