  • Intake date: January 4, 2017
  • ~2 years old, female
  • heartworm negative (yay)
  • See all her vetting below!
  • LOVES kitties! So much I think she annoys them!
  • Does good with other dogs at foster home but will do a nip sometimes. We aren't sure why because other times she's playing with them!  We will have to schedule a meet if potential adopter has another dog and see how they do. (New info below in "Current status section")
  • Very energetic and playful.
  • Really wants to be with the family. Doesn't care for being crated. Needs to have free roam of home, also likes a dog door.
  • Seems great with all people and children. .
  • Loves toys and cuddling!
  • Enjoys massages and sleeping in bed.

History: Ezzie was found injured and brought to the local open intake shelter by an animal control officer. Obvious leg injuries. She could barley put pressure on her front legs so she tip toed painfully to get around.  For 10 days Ezzie had been at the shelter. When we inquired we discovered Ezzie was to be euthanized the very next day. I went in her kennel and lifted her broken legs up so she could relax. Told her she was my "bunny" because she looked like a cute little rabbit with her feet up. I introduced her to our foster parents and it was decided.....  We saved her! She became a Rockers Rescue baby.  It was discovered both front legs were broken straight across, tail broken at the end, some sort of abrasion under armpits, nails all cut dead even, way past the quick. She had a spot on her face but it healed. Her ears had been hacked off in the past. Whatever happened to her... it is our job to see her to a loving home now.

Current Status: Her legs were splinted for weeks  letting the bone form a callus and remodeling on its own. She has had multiple vets view her xrays and was even checked for bone cancer but there was none! Vets say her legs are good. She does get pain meds as needed so we will be checking back with our vets on that.  Ezzie was adopted a few months ago but is being returned to us. She was going to doggie day care regularly and one day bit a dog. She also bit her adopters other dog twice. They wish for us to find her another home or foster until we find one.  We are trying to see if the mood swings may be related to pain as no other factor has been determined yet. Need stern owner to keep eye on her and also loves to have free roam of home with a yard to play in. They say she loves massages before bed, sent pictures of her wearing clothes and cuddling in bed, chasing in circles after her legs instead of tail, haha) She is a precious and deserving girl that needs the right home.

Vetting:  Ezzie had a heartworm test which was negative (yay). Put on proheart for heartworm prevention (shot that lasts 6 months). Put on bravecto for flea/tick prevention (pill lasts 3 months). Microchipped under the rescue (see below for details). Up to date on shots including rabies (lasts one year from date given). Treated for kennel cough. Lots of xrays and splints done. Meds for face wound. Fecal and treated for worms if positive. Spayed.  (She has a current banfield account and has stayed updated on preventatives. Also had xrays sent to specialist to make sure there was no cancer and all was well. Had a recent dental cleaning too.

About Microchip:  Our animals are microchipped under the rescue. By having the animals microchipped under us it provides us with a definite option of the animal being safe if found. If the pet ever goes missing you can let us know as well so we may help find them. If we ever are called on the animal being found we will try our best for 2 weeks to get in contact with the owners (as you should also be trying to get in contact with us) and if the owner is not found after 2 weeks the animal is legally ours again via our contract. This is a GREAT safety precaution for loving families. It means you will have an awesome caring team devoted to reuniting you with your baby. We ourselves have found microchipped dogs that have been rehomed and ended up in shelters on a euthanasia list. We take this very seriously as we never want that to happen to any of our animals. We also require first option of taking an animal back if the home does not work out. You can consider us a forever family for the pets adopted from us.

Adoption:    Must have a vet reference when filling out one of our applications. Monthly h eartworm prevention is very important to us and your pet so adopters need to be financially prepared to cover that expense. If you do not know about heartworms we would love to tell you about them. We all have to learn!  Any inquiries on adoption please feel free to message us. All information stated above is the the best of our knowledge for for as long as we have known this pet.  Adoption fee of $50.

First email us to let us know you are filling out an application as sometimes the site glitches and it will not send, rockersrescue@gmail.com  then go to the following site to fill out the application. Include as much information as you can...we like to get to know our possible adopters!  www.adoptapet.com/ rockersrescue/dogadoptionapp/.
