Gideon.

  • I only have 3 legs. One had to be removed.
  • I am 15lbs and am not expected to grow much larger if at all.
  • I definitely have Corgi in me. I am short legged, long, and have a nub tail! The rescue thinks I look like a corgi-beagle.
  •  Vets estimated me around 10 months old!
  • I am playful and sweet! A little shy around new people then I open up!
  • Good with cats, dogs, kids.
  • I am kennel trained and am house trained but i could use a strict eye and steady routine to be sure I potty outside.
  • I rock. Period.

History:  Gideon was brought to animal control seriously injured. He was in shock, covered in an oil type substance with a mangled foot/leg. The shelter treated him as best they could and Paws 4 Life brought him to the vet but there was not enough donations raised for his needed amputation. One of our volunteers, Claire, stayed worried about him and found a foster. Gideon luckily became a Rockers Rescue pup and we took him under our wing. His leg was amputated and the healing process began.

Gideon can be a little shy meeting new people then he relaxes and opens up. He enjoys playing with toys! Fluffy, krinkly, chew toys, etc. He gets around just fine, runs and all! OH and he has hilarious facial expressions!

Housetrained: Will not potty in kennel. Will go in another room to potty if you aren't watching him or letting him out often. Will be up to adopter to teach routine.

Vetting: Gideon was tested for heartworms and is heartworm negative. As with any pet it is adopters responsibility to keep him on monthly heartworm prevention. He is currently on heartguard. He has been updated on shots and has been dewormed. Neutered. Amputation of injured leg. He will be microchipped under the rescue. ( We just got our new chips in so owners will be able to register it as well) Prefer harness when walking on leash as it is easier for him.

About Microchip:    Our animals are microchipped under the rescue. By having the animals microchipped under us it provides us with a definite option of the animal being safe if found. If the pet ever goes missing you can let us know as well so we may help find them. If we ever are called on the animal being found we will try our best for 2 weeks to get in contact with the owners (as you should also be trying to get in contact with us) and if the owner is not found after 2 weeks the animal is legally ours again via our contract. This is a GREAT safety precaution for loving families. It means you will have an awesome caring team devoted to reuniting you with your baby. We ourselves have found microchipped dogs that have been rehomed and ended up in shelters on a euthanasia list. We take this very seriously as we never want that to happen to any of our animals. We also require first option of taking an animal back if the home does not work out. You can consider us a forever family for the pets adopted from us.

Adoption:     Monthly h eartworm prevention is very important to us and your pet so adopters need to be financially prepared to cover that    expense. If you do not know about heartworms we would love to tell you about them. We all have to learn!    Any inquiries on adoption please feel free to message us. All information stated above is the the best of our knowledge for for as long as we have known this pet. You may check with us to see if we have any adoption events coming up where you may meet the animal. We will not schedule private meets without an approved application first though.

Adoption donation fee  of $150. (this includes microchipping expense)   (The donation adoption fee generally NEVER covers the full expenses put into the animal. We have this donation as a way to help keep our 501c3 non profit functioning. We are all volunteers so your donation goes fully to the rescue. )

APPLICATION:  First email us to let us know you are filling out an application as sometimes the site glitches and it will not send, rockersrescue@gmail.com  then go to the following site to fill out the application. Include as much information as you can...we like to get to know our possible adopters!  www.adoptapet.com/   rockersrescue/adoptionapp/.

If you apply on a weekend it is generally the beginning of the next week that we review apps. Email us with any questions as to the status of your application.
