ASHTON:  special needs... Has random small seizures (maybe 1 minute of small shivers as if he would appear cold).  Not frequent enough to warrant medicine as he can go months without any. Will discuss more below.

  •  I'm a yorkiepoo!
  • I was born March 8th, 2010, so I am 7 years old!
  • I am 10lbs though I might have dropped a little bit of my rolls. But I was last weighed at 10lbs.
  • I'm not even a foot tall! I have short little bitty legs. They just measured me...about 10 inches tall going to the top of my head! Silly women!
  • I WILL require regular grooming. My hair is soft and luscious. I get pretty boy curls that need trimmed back regularly along with my face hairs.

  • I am housetrained.
  • I am also kennel trained BUT I don't bother a single thing in the house! I get left out to roam because I'm a good boy!
  • I LOVE my attention. I will just park myself right in your lap... thank you!
  • I am dog and cat friendly. I play around with Nugget a lot! He is under the rescue too. We are good pals. I'm also good with respectful children.
  • I go to events and sit on my foster mom. People admire how cute I am and love to pet me. When they hear about my small random seizures they turn away though! I am looking for a family that won't turn away. I want a family to love me like my rescue family. They will be SO lucky to have me because I am amazing and filled with joy!

History: Ashton was an owner surrender to us. The family had him from 4-5 weeks of age. He was kenneled a lot while they worked so they wished to find another home for him.

Personality: To me Ashton can be real quiet or real playful! He's really just a great little pup. He is so small when you see him in person. His foster mommy says he loves playing with toys. He also enjoys playing with Nugget, another doggie under the rescue. He can hold his own though with other dogs...he doesn't let them bully him around. He sticks to you! If you sit down I bet he will be right there wanting to sit in your lap! We need a family that will continue spoiling him and send us pictures and updates! He's part of the Rockers Rescue family. He goes to events and does great. Walks on the leash, sits quietly. We've even had him sitting on a table and he just relaxes, haha. He's a great little boy.

Vetting: Ashton has been updated on all shots and rabies vaccine, (If you do not know what heartworms are, please research them.) Luckily, Ashton is heartworm negative so he does not have any. For dogs to stay without heartworms they must stay on monthly prevention. Ashton is on Proheart shot which is a heartworm prevention that lasts 6 months from the date given. It's an alternative to the monthly pill. Ashton also needs to stay on flea/tick prevention. He is currently on Bravecto pill which provides 3 months of flea/tick prevention from the date given. Ashton had a fecal test which was also negative. We did blood work and all looked well.  Ashton will also be microchipped! See below for details on microchipping.

Seizures: As far as the seizures go: His original owner said they started about 2 years ago. During his time under us we have found them to be very small, like shaking when you are cold, and only lasting about a minute. He has not had one in a couple months. His previous owner said he would go months without any with her too. Then sometimes he could have a couple a week. We do not feel they warrant medication because they are so random and small. The medication itself could damage his liver, we don't want to risk that due to his being so minute. This is something you would have to experience for yourself and ask your vets opinion. In our opinion, the meds could do more damage than his small random seizures. We of course cannot guarantee that these seizures will never change etc. We just know what we know and love him as he is. We expect an open minded family to do the same.

Microchip: Ashton will be microchipped. We use PetLink as our trusted microchipping source. It is a one time fee (for life) that is already covered in your adoption donation fee. You will never have to pay any other fees for this chip. We will register the chip in our system with your information and email. You will then get an email that allows you to log in and update information when necessary. They'll also send you reminders to keep your information updated. If he ever goes missing we are also notified so we may help! You are Rockers Family for life. The chip is about the size of a grain of rice and inserted under the skin between the shoulder blades. It is not a gps type device! It does not allow you to find your pet BUT if someone doesn find your pet and has them scanned, your information will come up on the screen so you may be re-united!

Adoption: If you are interested in adopting this adorable boy you must first fill out our online application. Once approved we would schedule a meet n greet. Ashton has an adoption donation fee of $150. This donation fee likely NEVER covers the full amount we have put into the animal. The donation goes into the rescue to help us continue so we may save lives. We are 100% volunteer ran and we are a 501c3 non profit so your donation is also tax deductible.  Please go to www.adoptapet.com/rockersrescue/dogadoptionapp/ to fill out our application. Be sure to follow the rules listed and email us at rockersrescue@gmail.com to let us know to expect the app as sometimes it does not go through. Please include as much information about your family and home as possible. <3 Any questions, email to let us know.
