Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana, and often can meet at PetSmart in Shreveport. Thank you for considering adoption!

Luna Rae

Female. 6 month old pup! Mother was Husky and father German Shepherd. Also known as a "Shepsky. Note* Will be a large breed dog that sheds. Indoor only. Currently around 20lbs. Est 40-60lbs. Has tail so curly it can touch her back and tickle her, haha! We are attaching 2 videos. We do have requirements specific to her needs, please read.

History: Luna Rae was an owner surrender to our rescue. We just happened to be at the right place at the right time. To sum it up we were approached by someone that was military and couldn't keep his dogs. The pup ran up to our director for kisses, and we decided to let her join our rockers family. Her daddy loved her very much, and tearfully hugged her goodbye. We would later discover Luna was a smart girl.... her dad taught her tricks. She is a very sweet and playful pup. We are looking for a devoted, active, prepared family to be this girls forever home.

About Luna:  Let me tell you something cool.... this girl already knows how to SIT and LAY on command. Giving paw or a shake is also something she works on. We haven't quite figured out the magic trick for it though, haha! She needs a home that will continue training her and teaching her new things. She's going to be a very smart girl that needs an active family. Her breed mixes are smart and benefit from an engaging environment. She needs a large yard to run in but HAS to be an indoor dog! She's not going to handle heat well as she grows...keep this thick coated girl indoors and spoiled! She WILL SHED!!!! Seriously...google the double coated fur. She has super thick fur along her neck/back.

Luna is working on potty training and you bet...she's going to potty near the door if you aren't paying attention. So she needs a home prepared to continue her training and pay close attention to her, letting her go out to potty often. She does great with a doggy door. A puppy is like a toddler... you have to watch them constantly.

Luna Rae is great with going in her kennel. I can tell she came to us kennel trained. She loves a good cozy bed in there. She has shown interest in playing in the water bowl..so watch out! haha. Car rides she has always been kenneled and done excellent that way. She's too much hyper puppy right now for us to risk her riding shotgun.

You can expect energy. She loves to jump up on the couch and lay on you and kiss your face. She just loves people and attention. She needs an owner that can handle the bouncy jumping and continue her training. Direction and socialization.... those are necessary. Again, this is a very smart dog. Bring her in the public...to new places, people, dogs. She needs to learn. She is going to be protective of your home. She also does great with doggy friends that like to play.

This puppy is going to make an AMAZING addition to a lucky home. We can't wait to see which home will be her perfect match! She plans to live out her years being devoted to you, loving you, entertaining you, and having fun.

Vetting: Luna has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated with 1st set of vaccines, fecal and dewormer given, hw test and started on monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Adopter will need to continue puppy shot sets.

NEEDS: fenced yard, small dogs may get hurt accidentally by her energy so we prefer no small dogs. She is a more dominant type puppy, if your dog is super dominant, they may butt heads. Cats are iffy as she wants to play with them and some can't handle that energy.

About Applying to Adopt:   This puppy has a $50 adoption donation fee for approved application. This fee in no way covers all of the donations used to help this animal but it does help add back a little to help with the next life. We are a 501c3 non profit rescue that functions solely with volunteers and donations. TO APPLY, go to  https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption     Please include as much about yourself as possible. Some people applying like to send an email with pictures of their home/pets/ or family.
