Ryker- This dog is currently awaiting more surgery. We are posting him up in the event someone may be interested in adopting him when he's ready. We will update with as many details as we know. Ryker will have ALL vetting, neuter, plus microchip and on monthly preventions. He is heartworm positive and will have a treatment plan in place to be paid for via the rescue. He has a $50 adoption donation for approved app.
Be sure you see my FULL bio all the way to instructions on how to apply. Some sites only show a bit of bios. My full bio can be found at www.rockersrescue.org
Vet said he is around 10 months old. He resembles a black mouth curr. Weight likely in the 30's range, I will confirm.
History: Intake Date into our rescue 3/14/22. He was said to be rescued by people, who later loaded him up in the bed of a truck to surrender him to animal control. On the way, Ryker jumped and was seriously injured. He had bones exposed and his front left leg was snapped with the bone sticking out. Many of his toes and parts of the pawpad were wiped away from the impact. The tops of his feet degloved. The people loaded him back up and surrendered him to the shelter. They networked him and we stepped up to help this boy that was in so much pain. It's infuriating because this all could have been prevented. Ryker had a CUDDLY account and was selected for his story to be shared. Tons of people have been sending him goodies, donations to help us with his expenses, and prayers. He has touched many hearts with his story. I will keep his pictures on here less gruesome... but we would like his future owner to see what he went through. He is truly a survivor.
We do not know much about Ryker's temperament yet. We are just told he's sweet by the shelter staff and the vet staff. He has had 2 surgeries already to reconnect his leg. If the last surgery fails he will have an amputation of the leg. They have also been bandaging his other wounds to let oinment soak in. We do not yet know how he is with other dogs. We do know he had a sister though. He has been on strict cage rest and vet monitoring since we rescued him. He will have to continue that for a while. We do have a foster home lined up for him for when he is released by the vet but if someone is interested in fostering to adopt or wants to show adoption interest beforehand we can check into that.
We do not know how much love Ryker was shown in the past. He needs a home to spoil him big. He didn't deserve any of this. We won't know much more until he is released from the vet clinic and healed up more.
Monday, 3/28/22 he will be evaluated again and possibly neutered at that time.
Vetting: Overall vet check. Will be neutered, fully vaccinated with yearly vaccines, heartworm positive and will have a treatment plan. On monthly flea tick prevention. Fecal/deworm. Etc. We will have spent thousands in donations on getting Ryker the help he needed.
