Rockers Rescue

We  require potential adopter to have good previous vet history as well as proof of heartworm prevention use. All pets in home must be spayed/neutered. 

Sophie- Est 1 yr old. Spayed female. ~11lbs. Appears to be Maltese possible mixed with Poodle. This does NOT mean she is hypoallergenic, these breeds are a guess and she may shed. Her hair is cut to more of a poodle snout due to her former matting, her hair can look differently when grown back out. She has a white/apricot coloring. 

Personality: Fun! Sophie is a blast. She is young and has energy to match but she can also be chill. She LOVES a good lap snuggle! Overall a friendly active girl. Sophie enjoys playing with toys and can jump high in excitement. We also call her a goat, as she will likely jump onto the back of your couch.  She tries to hand bite puppy play, we are working on getting her to be more gentle with it. She's going to be a shadow to her person... read that twice and soak it in. She loves following her person around. Bubblegum is what we call it. She is very loving and thoroughly enjoying a happy home life. Maybe your home will be the match for her. 

History: This baby was sadly once neglected. She had matting so bad that she even had wounds underneath. It had to be shaved under sedation. She was roaming a neighborhood one day, unable to be caught. We were able to act fast and corner her, taking her from a frightened barking dog, and turning her into the sweet girl we have today. She did her legal stray hold through the shelter and is so thankful to be saved and loved. 

Potty Training/ Kennel Training: Sophie is fully potty trained. We've never seen an accident. We do not kennel her when not home, she is good and doesn't tear anything up.

Grooming: Sophie WILL require regular grooming. She has already been neglected once and suffered from it. She has a coat that will need a groomers attention regularly. Please consider that time/ expense before applying. 

Other pets: Sophie gets along with other small dogs in her foster home. We've also briefly had her around big dogs and she did fine. She has also been around a friendly cat and does good. 

​ Needs: Safely fenced back yard. I'm a young girl and love to play.  No small children, Sophie is still learning that her play biting can hurt. That equally goes if you are older with sensitive skin she may not be the best match. She needs someone that doesn't mind a shadow following them around. Will require regular grooming. Someone that loves snuggles and doesn't mind an active pup. 

Vetting: Matted fur shaved under sedation. Spayed, fully vaccinated with yearly vaccines and rabies vaccine, heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention. On monthly flea/tick prevention (Simparica) Fecal done and all was good. Nails trimmed. Ears checked. 

About Applying to Adopt:  This pet has a $100 adoption donation fee. This fee in no way covers all of the donations used to help this animal but it does help add back a little to help with the next life.
