Cherokee can go to his new home around June 1st. Estimated birthday is April 6, 2022.  Cherokee has some beautiful fur that is almost a mix between short and medium. We will just call it fluffy right now, haha. Adoption donation is $40 for approved application.

Personality: Fun! Cherokee is all about having a blast! He is a playful little boy. He is so chunky cute! We adore his fun loving playful spirit. He is very loving with people and will climb all over you. He did amazing at his vet visit, they said he was such a good boy.

History:  One of our volunteers was in Arkansas visiting family. (Cherokee village) While there, a neighbor brought up an issue. They had found kittens and brought all but one that they couldn’t catch, to their local shelter. Sadly, they all died at the shelter. They later caught the last one and of course didn’t want to bring him to the shelter. We welcomed the little boy to our Rockers family and named him Cherokee. He made the trip to Louisiana and says he loves it here with us rescue people. He did say he's ready to have his forever home though!

Other pets: Cherokee has been hanging out and playing with adoptable Lizzy kitten.  We are sure this playful boy will have no trouble adapting to other animals given time. He is super friendly.

Spay/Neuter: Kittens will have spay/ neuter appointment set for when they are old enough. Having the kitten spayed/neutered is mandatory and very important. Kittens can get pregnant as early as 4 months old! Rescue donations from kind people will cover this appointment. We will work with you to get them to the appointment if needed.

Vetting:   Began age appropriate sets of kitten vaccines/deworm Kitten is microchipped via the rescue with a PetLink chip. We have already paid the fee, so your new friend is covered for life. Had kitty FIV/FeLV  testing and was negative.  In a couple weeks, kitten will be old enough to be spayed/neutered and get its rabies vaccine. The rescue will schedule that appointment as well as cover the fee for the spay/neuter/ rabies vaccine, with donations.  I t is required/mandatory that you bring them to their appointment. We will work with adopters to get them there if needed .

Some Notes:  *This kitty is to be an indoors kitty. <<< If you are after an indoors/outdoors or outdoors only kitty then this is not the right kitty for you. We can help find one to meet those needs though! Just ask. This particular one...not it. Indoors only. <3    *We also do not approve of declawing. We request that you research that. We have seen many cases where cats become irritable or stop using the litter box etc. and people try to surrender them to us.

About Applying to Adopt:  This pet has a $40 adoption donation fee. This fee in no way covers all of the donations used to help this animal but it does help add back a little to help with the next life. We are a 501c3 non profit rescue that functions solely with volunteers and donations.   Adoption Process:  If you want to understand our "Adoption Process" go to www.rockersrescue.org

HOW TO APPLY, go to  https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption  Please include as much about yourself as possible. Some people applying like to send an email with pictures of their home/pets/ or family. We have added a place on our app for that but if you want to send by email it is , rockersrescue@gmail.com   Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!  Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. Thank you for considering adoption!
