Update: Has Pending adoption!

Be sure to read my FULL BIO all the way down to my vetting and how to apply. Not all sites will show the full bio, so if needed please go to www.rockersrescue.org and click on adoptable pets to be sure you are reading all details. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet at PetSmart Shreveport, or Hollywood Feed Shreveport.

Note: Momma Holly's babies will not be able to leave until at least 8 weeks old, around January 15th, if all goes well. Since the kittens have hit the 6 week mark, you may pre-apply. Please understand we may receive many applications on these babies. We will go through apps as soon as we can and let the applicants know which kitten, if any, may still be available if they are approved. We must have time to review apps and do vet checks. Please read the following thoroughly.

History:   On Dec 1st we went to the local shelter to intake a sick mommy kitty with 4 sick little babies. Details in vetting section.  With lots of tlc and a few vet visits, our babies have been getting better and better! We named Momma Holly's babies Merry, Joy, Tinsel, and Twinkle. All girls. Their mom appears to be a medium hair lynx/tabby point Siamese. Dad unknown. We  do not think the kittens fur will be long like moms. Est birthday around Nov 20, 2022.

Personality:  Personalities are tough to guess at such a young age. We will tell you what little bit we saw at their 6 week photoshoot. Check out the videos we attach as well. All the babies were assigned a color collar.

Momma Holly-  A sweetheart. Mom was found in bad shape, trying to raise her babies near a college. She is a sweet girl that is thankful to be cared for. She has been a great mommy to her little elves. She was happy to leave the shelter and come under our rescue.

Merry- female (Black collar) Merry is the smallest of the bunch. She's a bit more quaint and quiet. Merry's nose has a cute little split color of about 1/3 white and 2/3 the darker. She's a sweetie that loves to watch.

Joy- female (Gray collar/No collar in photos) Our most adventurous. Joy just wants to go explore! She was like "peace out, Im going to go play". Joy has faint stripes on her face currently that will likely make her look the most like mom as she grows. Joy also may be our largest girl.

Tinsel- female (Blue collar) The most well behaved during photos. This teachers pet just wanted to curl up in the elfs lap, haha! She is a playful girl. Her and Twinkle are usually playing together. Both of their faces may darken into more of a Siamese seal point look.

Twinkle- female (Red collar) Another outgoing one. Twinkle loves to play. I think she is our second largest girl. She is probably the second most outgoing currently too. Her and Tinsel love to play together. Her and Tinsel also may have their faces darken as they grow, making them have more of a Siamese seal point look.

What can I expect medical wise?
Vaccines: Our kittens will have started their vaccine and deworm schedule. Kittens usually get 4 sets of vaccines to protect them from disease. Vets generally do each set 3 to 4 weeks apart but every vet is different. It is important to speak with your vet to discuss when they would want to do the next set.  At ___8__ weeks old the kitten will have __2____ sets of vaccines. The kittens cannot get the rabies vaccine until they are old enough. We generally do that at the spay/neuter appointment unless your vet does beforehand.

Microchip: Kitten will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue will have already paid for it.

Spay/Neuter: We will schedule their spay/neuter at Robinsons Rescue in Shreveport for when the babies are around 12-16 weeks of age. The adopter will be responsible for getting them to and from this appointment. It has early drop off and pick up times. If you are not local or wish to use a different place, you may schedule this appointment elsewhere with the rescues approval but we cannot help with the extra expense. Rescue donations cover our appointment. When the kitten goes to their spay/neuter appointment they will receive their rabies vaccine for an extra $10 if the vaccine has not been done by adopters vet yet.  Having the kitten spayed/neutered is mandatory and very important. Kittens can get pregnant as early as 4 months old! We also see them recover much quicker the younger they are altered.

Testing/Health: This is a mouthful, so hang with me here: The kittens and mom were sick with upper respiratory issues on intake. The babies eyes were badly matted. The babies got eye drops initially due to their age. At 5 weeks old, they got antibiotic injections which helped a ton. Two of the kittens (Merry/Tinsel) have a little bit of a squinty eye come and go, so we will continue the medicated drops and observe if they need another injection or not. We cannot guarantee if any of the kittens may have a flare up, as they have all been recently treated. We are watching and monitoring. So far theyre doing great besides those 2 eyes squinting a bit still. Mom was FIV/FeLV tested negative. We will send in a kitten to be tested as well. Mom has also been being treated for coccidia (Treatable internal parasite). So to be safe, we are giving the kittens the same med as well. It is 10 days of meds so they will finish that and we will get a fecal done before the 8 week mark. At 8 weeks of age, the kittens will also be old enough for their first monthly flea/tick prevention, so we will give them that when they get their vaccines, before going to their new homes.

We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kittens as they still need more sets of shots as they grow.

ADOPTION:  $80 adoption donation for approved application. $40 of that will be donated (non refundable) upon app approval. The other $40 will be donated on the adoption meet day. Our rescue spends a lot more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help. Their fee in particular, does not even cover all of our vetting fees and expenses for them.  We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives.

HOW TO APPLY:  Go to  https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption  and find the CAT APP. Please include as much about yourself as possible. Some people applying like to send an email with pictures of their home/pets/ or family. We have added a place on our app for that but if you want to send by email it is , rockersrescue@gmail.com   Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!  Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. Thank you for considering adoption!
