Hello! Be sure you see my FULL bio all the way to instructions on how to apply to adopt. My full bio can be found at www.rockersrescue.org  - We are ran by volunteers and utilize foster homes. By choosing to adopt you help us open space up to save another life! After we have an approved application, we schedule a meet to see if yall are a great match! We are able to do adoption meets at PetSmart Shreveport or Hollywood Feed in Shreveport. Good vet history needed to apply.

Sidney: Sweet 6yr old male. 14lbs . Up to date on vaccines/testing, neutered, microchipped.

Breed: Domestic Longhair. We have listed Main Coon as secondary but a DNA test would be needed to truly know what he is.

History: Sadly, Sidney's mommy passed away. He went to her grandsons home but he was leaving for school, so the family contacted us for help. We were told Sidney is good with cats and dogs and was a sweet boy. There was a golden retriever in his home with him and his mom.

Personality: Sidney is a good big boy. He likes to be pet. He will come up to your for petting and attention when he wants. He will even talk to you some! His first few days he will be nervous and will hide.  Around day 2-3, he settles in and is coming to you for attention and even enjoys window watching. He has already shown us how he is good with other cats. Sidney has even enjoyed lounging on the top of the couch some. He's not really a playful cat (that we see so far), he seems to be more of a chill cat that likes to lounge. Sidney will get his purr box going to.

Grooming Care: Sidney has long fur. With that, comes responsibility. When we got Sidney he had a good bit of matting that had to be shaved away at our vet clinic. We trimmed out a few pieces ourselves too.  A regular brushing routine is needed for his hair. Also seeking a cat groomer wouldn't be a bad idea either. This is very important as we do not want his hair to go without care, causing matting. He does enjoy being brushed, but isn't a huge fan of being forced to be still. So, regular brushing would be ideal for keeping his long fur nice and tidy.

Some Notes:  *This kitty is to be an indoors kitty. <<< If you are after an indoors/outdoors or outdoors only kitty then this is not the right kitty for you. We can help find one to meet those needs though! Just ask. This particular one...not it. Indoors only. <3    *We also do not approve of declawing. We request that you research that. We have seen many cases where cats become irritable or stop using the litter box etc. and people try to surrender them to us.

Vetting: Sidney came to us already neutered. He now has his vaccinations up to date. His FIV/ FelV test was negative. Fecal was negative. He will have monthly flea/tick prevention. We were told by his former family that he may could get constipated at times, so we had the vet check him out but all is going good. Sidney overall had a healthy check up. He is 14lbs. He will be microchipped with one of our Petlink chips. We have already used donations to pay this fee, so he will be set for life.

Our pets have multiple pictures posted of them. Some even with videos. To see these, you may need to click "see more photos" at the top of our rescue page, or scroll to the bottom of our rescue page and see the option to click on them there. (Enjoy the one picture where he looks like a mad cat that is pouting. haha! ) Adding a video of Sidney too.

About Adoption: This Kitty has a $60 adoption donation fee for approved application. This fee in no way covers all of the donations used to help this animal but it does help add back a little to help with the next life. You can donate more if you wish.  We are a 501c3 non profit rescue that functions solely with volunteers and donations   . If you want to read how our adoption process works, go to:  Adoption Process (rockersrescue.org)    otherwise, see below for the link to the application.

TO APPLY, go to  https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption Please include as much about yourself as possible.  Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
