 SPOT- HAS PENDING APP

Be sure to read my FULL BIO all the way down to my vetting and how to apply. Not all sites will show the full bio, so if needed please go to www.rockersrescue.org and click on adoptable pets to be sure you are reading all details. The animals have multiple pictures and a video to view. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet at PetSmart Shreveport, or Hollywood Feed Shreveport.

Note: These kittens will not be ready to leave until around the end of April. We are accepting pre-applications to get them families lined up. These are new intakes so their medical is being worked on now. These babies have a sad story and are so deserving. Their names are Stripe, Spot, and Speckles.

Spot:  This kitten looks the most like a tuxedo. Male. He is the tiniest of the 3. Estimated birthday Feb 10th. So estimated 8 weeks old April 7th. His eye color is transitioning right now from kitten blue eyes to maybe a green. hard to say what color they will be. Calling them hazelnut for now. This baby is majority white with black face marking, a black dot on his lower back and black tail. He is a cutie!

History:  Sadly, 4 kittens were dumped in a box at an oil well location. One of those babies was was soaking wet, covered in red dirt and had a head injury with neurological damage. That sibling sadly did not survive. The 3 others were huddled together and scared. Someone saw them and called a local rescuer. They went to get the babies and got them to our foster. The babies were covered in tons of fleas and very dirty. We are getting them care and working on getting these babies healthy and ready for adoption! We have 3 males. Spot, Speckles, and Stripe.

Personality:  The kittens are all very sweet. They're a little nervous right now but very friendly and so happy to get love and care. When we showed them toys, they all had fun batting them around and playing.

Medical: Our kittens will have started their vaccine and deworm schedule. They will have had 2 sets of vaccines before leaving. Kittens usually get 3 to 4 sets of vaccines total to protect them from disease. Vets generally do each set 3 to 4 weeks apart.  We will select one kitten from the litter for an  FIV/FeLV test. We will also be sure we have a negative fecal. They will start  monthly flea/tick prevention when they weigh enough. When you adopt, you will get a folder with all of their medical records to bring to your vet.

Microchip: Kitten will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue will have already paid for it.

Spay/Neuter: We will schedule their spay/neuter at Robinsons Rescue in Shreveport for when the babies are large enough (around 3-4 months old) We will pay for the appointment unless you wish to. It is $38 for neuter and $48 for spay. An extra $10 for rabies if not done yet. The adopter would be responsible for getting them to and from this appointment. It has early drop off and pick up times. We try to help as able. If you are not local or wish to use a different place, you may schedule this appointment elsewhere with the rescues approval but it will be at your own expense. Having the kitten spayed/neutered is mandatory and very important. Kittens can get pregnant as early as 4 months old! We also see them recover much quicker the younger they are altered.

Note: We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kittens as they still need more sets of shots as they grow. This kitten is also to be indoors only. If you want an outdoors or indoor/outdoor kitty let us know and we can direct you.

ADOPTION: $80 adoption donation for approved application. $40 of that will be donated (non refundable) upon app approval. The other $40 will be donated on the adoption meet day. Our rescue spends a lot more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help.  We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives.

Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at PetSmart Shreveport or Hollywood Feed Shreveport. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. You must bring a pet carrier to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo!  We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too!

HOW TO APPLY:  Go to  https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption  and find the CAT APP. Please include as much about yourself as possible. Some people applying like to send an email with pictures of their home/pets/ or family. Email is rockersrescue@gmail.com  Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. Thank you for considering adoption! Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
