Little Joseph. Also known as "Little Benjamin Joseph Button"

Age: Estimated around 7 months old. Uses litterbox.

Breed: Est. Domestic shorthair that has the Russian Blue look.

Intake date: January 6, 2024.

History: So once a week I go take pictures of the cats at our local animal control to network online. One day I rounded the corner to what looked like a small very old and fragile cat with mange. Upon closer inspection I was shocked that this was actually a kitten! Probably around 6 months of age at the time. I felt like he needed “Benjamin Button” added to his name due to him looking so old initially I fell in love with him straight away. I gave him a bed and he was so happy for attention and to be rubbed. He was so itchy and his skin was horrible.

The shelter checked him out and began treatment for his skin. We didn’t have an open foster spot at the time, so I kept up with him weekly. His skin is looking so much better. Finally the time came… we had space! So we swooped Little Joseph up! He is doing so good. He’s a sweetheart!!!! He doesn’t seem to mind the dog and is cool with the other kitties. He loves being pet. We are SO happy Little Jospeh (Little Benjamin Jospeh Button) has joined our Rockers Family. We have his neuter scheduled and should have him ready for adoption as soon as he is healed up.

Little Jospeh LOVES being pet. He is pretty chill and like to lounge so far but is also playful as he's a youngin. Enjoys kitty hammocks too. The energetic dog in his foster home intimidates him at times but he does okay with her around when she's calmer. Otherwise he avoids her space of chaos, haha. He is good with other kitties. Likes toys. He will come to you if you go near him and talk to him. He will likely love being around (or on) his people when he's comfy in his home.

It has been amazing to see this boy thrive and we are so happy to have him and find his forever home to be SUPER SPOILED in. He really has a great personality that is easy to fall in love with, especially after seeing his pictures when he was so pitiful. He deserves so much love.

Medical: Has been vaccinated and rabies vaccine. Dewormed. Fiv/felv test negative. On monthly flea/tick prevention . Treated for mange/bacterial infection. When you adopt, you will get a folder with all of their medical records to bring to your vet. Kitty will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue will have already paid for it. Neuter is set for 1/18/24 and he may go to new home that following weekend if everything is looking good.

Note: We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kittens as they still need more sets of shots as they grow. This kitten is also to be indoors only. If you want an outdoors or indoor/outdoor kitty let us know and we can direct you. Our pets each have multiple pictures and usually at least one video so be sure to check for those.

ADOPTION: $80 adoption donation for approved application. Our rescue spends a lot more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help. We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives.

Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at PetSmart Shreveport or Hollywood Feed Shreveport. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. You must bring a pet carrier to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo! We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too!
