We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet inside one of our adoption partners locations which are Hollywood Feed, Shreveport or in PetSmart, Shreveport.
Violet - Female Kitten. Tabby. Already altered. Est Birthday Oct 4, 2024.
History: This darling little girl found herself at Bossier City Animal Control after being trapped. We go there weekly to take pictures and network the cats. My 12yr old daughter happened to be with me one day and when she saw Violet she just HAD to bring her home to foster. Violet was scared and hissy. She was actually already spayed and ear tipped to be a tnr. Within an hour my daughter had her wearing a dress, purring and making biscuits!
Personality: Violet loves to play. Wand toys, scratchers, kitty huts, etc. She knows how to have a good time. When she wants attention, she will come to rub on you. Loves lounging on the bed. She will likely be nervous/shy at first and then come out of her shell to enjoy herself. She should do fine with a dog that respects her space. She recently got a kitty play friend (Bubbles, also under the rescue) and is very happy with that too, she's been a bit bored in my daughters room where she is awaiting her forever family. We CANT WAIT for Violet to have a home to spoil her and let her have full run of the house and lots of toys and pets. She will be so thankful. Violet is my daughters (12yrs old) very first personal little rescue and foster.... we look forward to her seeing Violet's journey to fruition into her loving forever home.
Medical: Had 3 sets of kitten vaccines. Got rabies vaccine at spay appointment. Dewormed. Treated for coccidia tummy parasite and then had negative fecal. On monthly flea/tick prevention. When you adopt, you will get a folder with their medical records to bring to your vet. Kitten will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue donations will have already paid for it. Was ear tipped at her spay appointment by the shelter. This is a sign that cats are altered. mainly used for ones outdoors. This kitten is NOT ALLOWED OUTDOORS.
Note: We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kitten/cats. This kitten is also to be indoors only. If you want an outdoors or indoor/outdoor kitty let us know and we can direct you.
ADOPTION: $40 adoption donation for approved application. Our rescue spends a LOT more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help. We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives.
Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at PetSmart Shreveport or Hollywood Feed Shreveport. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. You must bring a pet carrier to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo! We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too!
HOW TO APPLY: Go to https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption and find the CAT APP. Please include as much about yourself as possible.
